Shelburne Vineyard Marquette 2016, Vermont
One of the most successful cold-climate grapes, Marquette was developed in Minnesota and thrives in Vermont. Owner Ken Albert became inspired to grow grapes after visiting vineyards even further to the north in Canada.
Shelburne’s Marquette is rich, robust and spicy, benefitting from lees contact, and is produced using sustainable practices at this LEED-designed winery. Suggested retail: $20.00
Shelburne Vineyard LaCrescent 2017, Vermont
Notably cold hardy – to -36F – the LaCrescent grape comes into its own in Vermont. With flavors that may remind you of a moscato, it’s a relatively new grape (2002) created by the University of Minnesota. Shelburne’s expression is semi-dry and delicious, with a floral bouquet, juicy peach/apricot flavors and crisp acidity. Suggested retail: $16.99
