Best of Category/Gold Medal Winner 2021 Competition: Red Interspecific Blends: Vladimir by Katya Vineyards, FL

Posted on October 20, 2021 by Mary Ann

The Sokol family, of eastern European heritage, works with hybrid grapes suited to the hot Florida climate. The vineyards are rich in limestone and draw water from an underground aquifer. Vladimir was aged in premium French, Hungarian and American oak barriques which lend a vanilla-smoke quality to this full bodied red replete with dark fruits and berries. The finish is long and lingering. Pix: Owners David and Patricia Sokol
