Romano Seyval autumn

Best of Category/Gold Medal Winner 2021 Competition: Seyval Blanc 2019 by Romano Winery & Vineyard, MD

Posted on October 27, 2021 by Mary Ann

In Maryland, 2019 was particularly dry and sunny, beneficial to the seyval blanc hybrid.  With a flavor profile generally considered to lie somewhere between sauvignon blanc and chardonnay, Romano has chosen to vinify this wine in a semi-dry style, highlighting dried apricot and honey with notes of melon. A nice companion to light, spicier dishes of chicken or shrimp and very good with Havarti, Edam, or Swiss cheeses.
