In 2001, Ted Cupp acquired 150 acres from NY wine trailblazers Robert and Mary Plane who earlier had created the Cayuga Wine Trail. Gewurztraminer is a grape known to grow best in cooler climates. It is a vigorous vine which buds early and does well in long, cool summers. This wine shows characteristic hints of rose petal and a good helping of lychee flavor with a lingering spicy finish. RS of 0.4% showcases the wine’s bright acidity.
