Gold Medal Winner 2021 Competition: Viognier 2020 by Marceline Vineyards, VA

Posted on February 2, 2022 by Mary Ann

Virginia viogniers range from citrusy to floral, and this example from Marceline Vineyards in the Shenandoah Valley leans toward the latter. Grown on a hillside vineyards and aged in steel, the wine shows a certain crispness that melts into intriguing peach/honeysuckle/rose flavors. Dry and fruity, a good selection for salmon prepared in a variety of ways.
